CHANGING LIVES - CHANGING GENERATIONS

What started as a means to get homeless pregnant teens off the street and give shelter has evolved into a program of reshaping the direction or young mothers and their children.  Generations of poverty, little education, and a pervasive feeling of hopelessness has not provided a meaningful direction.  The teens we see don't believe they will succeed.  They don't believe that education can open doors to a future.  They don't believe they will be any better off than their mothers, grandmothers or great-grandmothers.

Many of the teens we see have serious personality disorders.  Some have been abused physically, sexually, and emotionally.  Most get little or no support from family and/or the biological fathers of their babies.  Almost Home provides shelter and the tools to make a difference in their lives and the lives of their children (and their children's children)!
